FBR recovers only 16pct from new taxpayers

KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has received only Rs 206.75 million from new 121,985 taxpayers identified since July 1, 2011 under its broadening of the tax base campaign.
The recovery is only 16 percent against notices worth Rs1.282 billion issued by the revenue body during July 1 to November 30, according to the data released by the FBR on Wednesday.
