Pakistan gold price eases

KARACHI: After hitting its new peak, Gold prices decreased slightly in major cities of Pakistan on Thursday following the trend in international gold prices.


In Karachi, Gold prices recorded at Rs. 53,400 per tola with a decline of Rs. 100. The price of 10 grams gold also remained on lower side and recorded decrease of Rs. 86 by touching the level of Rs. 45,771.


On the other hand, silver prices also remained stable at Rs. 1,092.85 per 10 gram.


The price of London gold 1500-fix witnessed around $1679.50.


In international market, Gold held steady below its record high at $1,661 an ounce, supported by worries about the spreading euro zone debt crisis and slowing global growth. Gold has hit record highs in the past two consecutive sessions, as investors turned to focus on the gloomy global growth outlook, while the sovereign debt crisis in the euro zone threatened to engulf Italy.
