Current account deficit widen more in first half

KARACHI: The current accountdeficit of the country widen to $2.15 billion during the first half of 2011/12 against the surplus of $8 million in the corresponding half of the last fiscal year, said the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Tuesday.
The foreign inflows of home remittances and export receipts are major components of balance of payments, but both the factors failed to curtail widening of the deficit.
