Cotton prices unchanged

KARACHI: Pakistan cotton prices did not show any movement and remained inert along with thin volumes traded on Friday due to cautious attitude by local traders. However, phutti arrival in large quantity also added pressure.
Cotton traders looked worried as textile industry requires consistent gas supply plus incentives to utilize World Trading Organization (WTO) waiver package for 75 Pakistani textile products. Conversely, ginners are expecting increase in cotton prices on account of high demand by buyers to utilize WTO discounted offer.
