Mari Gas earnings jump up

KARACHI: The net earnings after tax of Mari Gas (MARI) jumped up by whopping 164 percent to Rs 1,396.29 million during the first half of the financial year 1HFY12 against Rs 529.27 million recorded in the same period last year.
The substantial increase in the earning of the company is due to higher gas production which increased by 9.5 percent to 579mmcfd from last year production mainly supported by increase in production from Mari field as production of the field increased by 9 percent to 553mmcfd during the year.
