PTCL owes $800mln outstanding amount of privatization

ISLAMABAD: Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology (IT) and Telecom has observed that PTCL still owes an amount of $800 million as outstanding against the payment of privatization. The body expressed serious concern over the poor performance of the new PTCL Management.
The meeting of the standing committee of the Senate on IT & Telecom, which met today under the chairmanship of Senator Idrees Khan Safi, at Parliament House has directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps for the recovery of the amount, and asked for early submitting of the report in that regard.
