Workers’ remittances rise over 21pct to $7.44bln in 7MFY12

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported on Friday that overseas Pakistani workers remitted an amount of $7,435.98 million in the first seven months (July 2011 - January 2012) of the current fiscal year 2011‐12 (FY12), showing an impressive growth of 21.54 percent or $1,317.98 million when compared with $6,118.00 million received during the same period of the last fiscal year (July- January 2011).
