Pakistan approves 100,000t sugar exports

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has approved the export of 100,000 tonnes of white sugar based on expected 2012 surplus of 1.5 mln tonnes, government officials said on Monday.
Trade sources, speaking to Reuters on the sidelines of the Feb. 4-7 Kingsman Dubai sugar conference, estimated that Pakistan's 2011/12 sugar production was between 4.5-5.1 million tonnes.
